the greatest:day four
[Read & meditate on Mark 9.33-37. How do verses 36-37 illustrate verse 35?]
It’s hard to slow down for children. Taking time with children requires me to literally lower myself and put myself on their level. I have to process at their level. I have to pace with them. I have to accept them for who they are. I have to discover what is important to them. I have to learn to see the world from their perspective. I have to laugh with them and cry with them. What a beautiful picture!
It’s pretty ironic that in our chaotic quests for significace we feel we don’t have time for “dealing” with kids. Jesus’ message flip-flopped this idea by saying that we don’t just have to “deal” with kids but we have to be like them to find significance.
